Day 1 — Lombok Meeting Point, Ferry to Sumbawa, Overnight in Labuan Jambu

Your trip starts from the meeting point in Lombok.

The standard meeting points are usually Senggigi Square and Lombok Epicentrum in Mataram. After meeting the driver and other participants, the journey continues by car to Kayangan Port in East Lombok.

From Kayangan Port, we cross by public ferry to Poto Tano Port in West Sumbawa.

After arriving in Sumbawa, we continue the overland journey through local villages, hills, coastal roads, and rural landscapes toward Labuan Jambu, the main gateway area for whale shark trips in Saleh Bay.

In the late afternoon, we arrive near Labuan Jambu, check in at the hotel, and rest for the evening. Your guide or local crew will help explain the plan for the next morning.

  • 07:20 — Meet at Lombok Epicentrum, Mataram
  • 10:00 — Arrive at Kayangan Port
  • 12:00 — Arrive at Poto Tano Port, Sumbawa

Day 2 — Whale Shark Snorkeling in Saleh Bay, Return to Lombok

Early in the morning, we depart by motorized boat to the whale shark point in Saleh Bay.

The boat usually leaves before sunrise because morning is one of the best times to look for whale sharks around the local fishing platforms.

When whale sharks are found, the local crew will guide the snorkeling session. You can enter the water, keep a respectful distance, and enjoy a rare chance to swim near the gentle giants of Sumbawa.

After the snorkeling session, we return to Labuan Jambu for breakfast, shower, and check-out. Then we drive back to Poto Tano Port, cross by ferry to Lombok, and continue to Mataram or Senggigi.
